Free accounting homework help: 10 tips to help you do your homework

Homework is what makes or breaks most college students, but it’s not the academic career killer it seems to be with just a few tips and strategies. Students usually have more than enough ability and resources to actually do the homework—it’s just discipline and time management they’re missing out on. Plenty of them also think that discipline is something accomplished through brute force—willpower, even—but that’s not the case. There are all kinds of small ways to create good habits that motivate one to finish their homework, and improve their discipline painlessly. Here’s how to make sure you get your accounting homework down.

  1. Have a homework sweet spot.

You’ll find you’re much more motivated to do your accounting homework if you can get in the right mindset, and getting in the right mindset can be helped along a great deal with environmental cues. What does that mean? It means you can design your own “study hall” to encourage good habits. Have a place in your home or elsewhere that you use as your place to do homework. Keep that area clear of other distractions (or if you choose somewhere else, like a library or a café, make sure there aren’t too many distractions there). If it’s at home or in your dorm, make sure there’s plenty of space for everything you need (calculator, laptop, text books, etc.). Choose somewhere with plenty of good lighting.

  2. Plan your meals and snacks.

It sounds silly, but hunger can be the biggest distraction of all. If you tend to do homework during meal times (or before, when it might take longer than expected), always have a few snacks, some bottled water, or even a packed dinner ready. It’s not just the hunger, it’s that when you wander off in search of food, you might just not come back to finish.

  3. Turn off your phone.

Or, at the very least, turn off notifications and put it face down or in your bag while you work. There are very few things that can’t wait for a response until after you’ve finished your work. If you finish it first, then you can chat with your friends or make plans for later. Plus, your friends will get used to your homework schedule and will make an effort to call you before or after.
